The Catalan Government, prior to the establishment of INDESCAT, conducted a study on the status of the Catalan sports industry. Based on this analysis, the industry of sport in Catalonia was divided into three business segments: equipment, sporting goods and events. In addition, six areas of work have been defined (R+D+I, training, stock market, internationalization, promotion of sport and coordination and visibility).
