	The Observatori Català de l’Esport is an initiative by the Secretaria General de l’Esport de la Generalitat de Catalunya. The Institut Nacional d’Educació Física de Catalunya (INEFC) runs it in partnership with other organsiations linked to sport in Catalonia.

It sets up a new activity of the General Secretariat of Sport to promote Catalan women's sport: the television series "Champion Women".

Due to the agreement signed between the General Secretariat of Sports and Television of Catalonia in 2008, renewed in 2010, the premiere of the series "Champion Women" is presented, there Catalan athletes give testimony explaining their experiences in their passage through the world of sport.

The Sant Cugat CAR EsportParc will represent a world landmark both at a sporting and a business level

The construction of the new sports module, and the one of the International EsportParc of Catalonia are two Government projects which will promote the role of sport as an economic engine.

For the year 2010 the new law for professional sport is expected to be passed

The Secretary of State for Sports, Jaime Lissavetzky, said that by June next year the new Law on professional sport will be unveiled. The goal shall not be to amend the existing law of the year 1990, as it is almost 30 years since it was approved.
